Howdy, ya’ll. Thanks for stopping on by to my little space on the web! I’m Travis, a 26 year old Texan transplant living in Michigan. My objective is to be able to share my lifestyle of living with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) both before and after my accident and how I am coping and getting through the treatment process.
Up until I was 21 I lived in a small little town in Southeast Texas. It’s kind of like one of those cities you’d see on tv shows like Friday Night Lights or Varsity Blues, everybody knows your name and few people ever leave. At some point it just clicked and I knew I wanted more from life, an adventure. I spent the better part of a year traveling to 11 different countries doing humanitarian and mission work. Not long after that I met my wife, Christina, and moved to her state of Michigan, we have now been married for almost 4 years.
I’ve worked in both insurance and banking as well as a day-trader. I was also a full-time student working on my B.S. in Psychology, had I completed this I would have been the first in my immediate family to gain a university level credential. I enjoyed travel, leisure, playing with my Siberian huskies, and being social with family and friends.
On October 26th, 2016 in the early morning on my way to work, an SUV ran a red light, plowed through my little Toyota Corolla, and gave me a TBI, severe back injuries, and completely changed my life forever.
I hope you join me on my journey to recovery as well as my life in-between time.
